Frequently asked questions
01 What are The Learned Dog's preferred training methods?
We promise to never use pain, fear or any other coercive approach when training your dog. The training will always be pleasant and joyful, and we take particular care to go at the dog’s pace so that he no longer feels fear or stress.
For more information, visit our Training Methods page.
02 How long will it take to see visible results?
Each case is unique, and the time it takes to get there depends on a number of influencing factors over which The Learned Dog has no control! During your first assessment, your coach will take note of your dog’s behavioral history, set your goals and give you an estimate of how long it will take to achieve them.
03 Is online training really effective?
Yes! Our customers have found this approach just as effective, and in some cases even more so, than face-to-face training. Particularly in cases of separation anxiety, the presence of a trainer can even become a hindrance to progress. For other behavioral problems, we can guide you using modern techniques by analyzing video segments that allow us to freeze the screen, rewind and review the video capture together.
04 My dog gets nervous when I leave him. Should I crate him?
The crate is an invaluable tool for a number of reasons, but can have a detrimental influence on dogs with separation anxiety. If you think your dog panics when left alone, we strongly encourage you to request an initial evaluation right away.
05 Do you guarantee results?
While it would be unethical to guarantee a precise result given the number of factors involved in behavior modification, we can promise that you and your dog will be treated to the highest ethical and professional standards.
